INTEGRITIES

As the child’s mind and emotions are shaped the developmental integrities that form the dimensions of their social, intellectual, and emotional areas are growing as well. These areas in turn comprise the fortitude of the moral elements that fuel the Child’s integrity. The elements from these areas Happy refers to as integrities.

Happy Smiles believes that a child is an intricate part of the world around him. This world defines and molds the child’s present and future. As the child’s mind and emotions develop, dimensions of his social, intellectual, and behavioral skills are also developing. The child’s moral fortitude is determined by the strengths of these skills.
Happy refers to these various elements as integrities.

INTEGRITIES Integrities are the psychological elements a child will utilize in his external day-to-day interaction with others. Strength of integrities determines how the child will internalize these interactions in regard to his developing concept of self.

INTERNAL The internal integrities that a child creates are dependent upon consistent nurturing. An internal element is created by the child’s interaction with caregivers (parents, teachers, etc.). When a child reaches out and his needs are acknowledged and met, positive integrities are developed and reinforced.

EXTERNAL The external integrities that a child creates are based upon his interaction with the world around him: the people and the institutions existing outside the home.

Integrity is defined as the firm adherence to a code of moral reasoning. Integrities are the parts of that structure where in a child’s Primary Integrity resides. These components are linked together to create the child’s psychological well being. These represent the cognitive structure of the child’s ability to reason with moralistic integrity.
